Listed below are recipients of the Abacus Medal (previously called the Rolf Nevanlinna Prize) in computer and information science who were, or are, Jewish (or of half-Jewish descent, as noted). Awarded alongside the Fields Medals every four years by the International Mathematical Union at the International Congress of Mathematicians, the Abacus Medal recognizes outstanding contributions to mathematical aspects of the information sciences by individuals who are forty years of age or younger.*

Son of Dr. George Tarjan, 112th President of the American Psychiatric Association, who "was raised in an intellectual, liberal Jewish family" in Hungary, where his parents and younger brother Endre perished in the Holocaust; see obituary in the American Journal of Psychiatry (150:5, May 1993, pp. 691-694).
